Here is a real case of a PLE development project.
I have been working with a UT professor on developing a statistics-related PLE. The initial idea was to inform statistics learners that statistics is useful, interesting, and fun.
As introduced in this PLE (Stats Land), the target learners of this PLE include high school and college students enrolled in statistics courses, the individuals who teach statistics courses, students and teachers in other disciplines, researchers who collect/analyze numerical data, and the administrative personnel in high schools, colleges, and universities. In other words, the target audiences of this PLE are a general population.
So far, Stats Land is gradually attracting more and more statistics learners’ attention. Currently we are trying to tackle issues such as these: What improvement can be made to further develop this PLE so it can better serve its original educational purpose? How can posts be made more effective? …
